Walt Disney World Resort area, Lake Buena Vista
Lake Buena Vista and resort area transportation
Southwest of Orlando, the theme park resort area is a patchwork of resort hotels, gated lobbies and rental homes. We take you from the airport to the right door, not the nearest gate.
- From MCO in about 20–35 minutes without traffic
- Hotel, resort or vacation-home drop-off
- Child seats, meet and greet, tolls and airport fees are in the price
Orlando Private Car Service is not affiliated with Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort or SeaWorld Orlando; we name them only to say where we drive.

The address on your booking may not be where you think
“Lake Buena Vista” is printed on the mailing address of a huge number of hotels, including the row along Hotel Plaza Boulevard, yet many Walt Disney World Resort buildings and parks actually sit in the neighbouring city of Bay Lake.
That is why we ask for the hotel’s name as well as its address. Two places with “Lake Buena Vista” on the envelope can be several miles apart by road, with different entrances.

Resort gates, lobbies and park drop-offs
Most large resorts in the area have a staffed security gate at the entrance. Registered guests get waved through. Visitors may be asked for a reason to enter, such as a dining reservation, and how strictly that is enforced varies. Your driver follows the gate staff’s instructions and drops you at the main entrance or lobby.
Theme park entrances are different again. Some parks route private cars and app rides to a dedicated drop-off area, which can be a short walk or a connecting ride from the gate itself. If you are going to a park rather than a hotel, tell us which one and we plan the drop-off around its rules.

Rides people book from the resort area
Your car does not have to be an airport run. Many families stay in one place and book a private ride for the days they leave it.
Routing estimates with no traffic, except where a published figure is shown. I-4 through this area is often slow in the late afternoon.

Questions travellers ask
What is the drive time from MCO to Lake Buena Vista?
About 20 miles, roughly 20 to 35 minutes without traffic. Rush hour on I-4 and SR 528, or a holiday weekend, can add a good deal more.
Can you drop us at the resort lobby rather than the gate?
Your driver takes you to the main entrance or lobby and follows the gate staff’s instructions on the way in. Registered guests are normally let through.
Do you go to vacation homes as well as hotels?
Yes. Give us the full address, the community name, and the gate code if there is one, so the driver is not held up at the entrance.
Can we book a ride from our hotel to the cruise port?
Yes. From the resort area to Port Canaveral is about 60 to 65 miles, a little over an hour in normal traffic.
