Plant Street anchors the historic district. The West Orange Trail, a paved former rail line, runs along its median, and a farmers market sets up every weekend.

South of SR 50, large communities such as Stoneybrook West and Westfield fill what were orange groves, on the road toward Windermere and the resort area. SR 429, a toll road, links the city to I-4 to the south.
