About Winter Park

Wealthy northerners planned Winter Park in the late 1800s as a place to spend the cold months, and the Seminole Hotel, opened in 1886, gave it a name. Canals link its lakes, and downtown wraps around Central Park and the station on Park Avenue.

Rollins College, founded in 1885 as Florida’s first four-year college, is by Lake Virginia, and the Morse Museum on North Park Avenue holds the chapel Louis Comfort Tiffany built for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.
