About Downtown Orlando

People fly into Orlando for downtown for different reasons than the rest of the region: a hearing at the federal court for Florida’s Middle District, meetings near City Hall, a game or concert at the Kia Center, or a weekend in the bars and restaurants around Church Street and Thornton Park.

Lake Eola Park is the middle of it all: 23 acres of water, a landmark fountain and a walking loop just under a mile long, boxed in by Robinson, Rosalind, Central and Eola.

Arrival notes for Downtown Orlando

  • Rosalind only carries traffic north and Orange only south, so the hotel or building name, plus its street, lets the driver pick the right way in.
  • On event nights at the Kia Center, or when a bowl game is on at Camping World Stadium, allow extra time to get in and out.
  • For short hops during your stay, LYMMO, a free downtown bus with its own lanes, may be all you need.

Questions travellers ask

What is the drive time from Orlando airport to downtown?

About 13 miles, roughly 15 to 25 minutes without traffic. Rush hour adds time.

Is downtown Orlando close to the theme parks?

No. The parks and resorts are well to the southwest, so a park day from a downtown hotel means a longer ride each way.

Can you pick up from the federal courthouse?

Yes. Give us the building and the street, and a time window if your hearing may run long.
